John Ingram and Bernhard Brauns have been doing business as Ingram and Brauns Musik Shoppe in Modesto and the surrounding since 1985.(See Modesto Bee article “Music Men” dated July 26, 2004)

We have 2 stores, one in Modesto and one in Pleasanton.  Our original location in Modesto is a state of the art full service repair facility that services many of the professional players in the area and all over the United States.  Both of our stores carry a full line of instruments from all of the major manufacturers, including: Yamaha, Getzen, Conn, Selmer, Ludwig, Deagan, Yanagisawa, Musser, Bach, Gretsch, Hohner, Zildjian and many others.  We also carry a fine selection of sheet music.

Bernhard Brauns received his Comprehensive Band Instrument Repair certification from Allied Music Corporation, which was known as one of the most prestigious repair facilities in the nation.  He is also a certified Professional Straubinger technician and has studied with such notables as Bob Getzen, Jonathon Lindell, David Straubinger and Eddie Strege (Badger State Repair).  He is also a certified bench jeweler.  He is an accomplished trumpet player.

John Ingram, like Bernhard Brauns,  is a Bay Area native.  He received his B.A. and Teaching Credential from Cal-State College at Hayward(now CSU-East Bay).  He taught Music in the Hayward Schools from 1968-86 and in the valley town of Hughson from 1988-1993.  He also taught at Pleasanton Middle School from 2005-2007.  He is the current conductor of the Livermore-Pleasanton  Youth Outreach Symphony.
